 The Instructions Button is Not Displayed

The Instructions button is not displayed unless you install the On-screen Manuals. Insert the Setup CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive and install the On-screen Manuals.

Note

The Instructions button is displayed only on the Main tab and the Maintenance tab.

 The Canon IJ Status Monitor is Not Displayed

Check whether Enable bidirectional support is selected.

(1) Click Start and select Control Panel, Printers and Other Hardware, and then Printers and Faxes.

Note

If your OS is other than Windows XP, click Start, Settings, and then Printers.

The Printers window appears.

(2) Click the icon of your printer.

(3) On the File menu, select Properties.

(4) On the Ports tab, select Enable bidirectional support.

For Windows Me and Windows 98, select Spool Settings under Details and then Enable bi-directional support for this printer.

Ensure that the Enable Status Monitor is selected.

(1) Open the Printer Properties dialog box.

(2) Click the Maintenance tab, and then select View Printer Status.

(3) Ensure that the Enable Status Monitor check box is selected in the Option menu.

 Cannot Print in Background (In Windows Me or Windows 98)

Check the amount of free space on the hard disk.

Background printing requires a certain amount of disk space. You may need to delete unnecessary files, or disable Background printing.

Ensure that Background printing is enabled.

(1) Open the Printer Properties dialog box.

(2) Click the Page Setup tab, and then click the Stamp/Background button and select Background printing.
